About KUH: The New Modern in Denver
Koelbel Urban Homes (KUH) has quickly emerged as a leader in creating urban neighborhoods that promote community and synergy by integrating life, work and play.
As the newest division of legendary developer Koelbel and Company, KUH is focused on in-fill properties, designing and building innovative homes tailored to each unique site.
While market drivers vary from one neighborhood to the next, the blend of KUH communities includes the following:
- new-modern architecture
- highly desirable locations walkable to parks/trails, retail, eateries and entertainment
- "Smart spaces" that effectively combine work and play, fun and family, indoors and outdoors
- Transit-oriented - easy access to Light Rail and alternative transit options
- centric to major employment centers
- legendary Koelbel timeless neighborhood design and homeowner satisfaction
Offered homes run the gamut of detached single-family homes to svelte modern attached designs featuring today's popular spaces, such as rooftop decks and open-plan concepts. All KUH homes, of course, are designed for optimum living and with respect for the surroundings.
"We're proud to serve the lifestyle and location desires of a new generation of homebuyers in neighborhoods such as LoHi and RiNo in Denver and NoBo in Boulder." - Carl Koelbel
In 2010, Koelbel and Company began shifting its focus from suburban communities to urban-lifestyle neighborhoods, soon after launching its first comprehensive urban project: LoHi Court in one of Denver's most sought after locations, the Lower Highlands. The 18-townhome neighborhood sold out very quickly because the homes embodied the style, convenience and quality sought by today's savvy, demanding consumers. It was a success story that spurred KUH's evolution as an urban-home leader.
The birth of KUH was no coincidence, occurring soon after Carl Koelbel joined Koelbel and Company, a family-owned firm. The grandson of the company's founder, the late Walt Koelbel, Sr., and the son of current President & CEO "Buz" Koelbel, Carl had recently graduated from the University of Colorado with a Masters degree in Real Estate and Business Administration. He also spent two years before grad school at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C. studying the effects of infrastructure on land use. He arrived on the scene with a working knowledge and a viable vision for urban development along the Front Range.
Carl is a strong advocate for the company's initial in-fill projects: "We're proud to serve the lifestyle and location desires of a new generation of homebuyers in neighborhoods such as LoHi and RiNo in Denver and NoBo in Boulder."

About Koelbel and Company
Now in its seventh decade, Koelbel and Company is the longest operating family-owned real estate development firm in the region. A testament to this longevity is an impressive slate of developments stretching from Vail and Winter Park to Louisville and Boulder, as well as all across metropolitan Denver.
The firm was founded in 1952 by then 26-year-old Walter A. Koelbel. Through the years, Koelbel has been the driver for some of the most notable residential, retail and mountain resort developments along the Front Range.
Under the leadership of Walter A. "Buz" Koelbel, Jr., since 1985, the company continues to place its indelible mark on the Colorado landscape, blending ageless values with pacesetting design.
Buz Koelbel says the company has been privileged to participate in the evolution of Colorado real estate for more than six decades. "I call it a good start," he said, "because our focus is always on the future."
That philosophy across the decades has kept Koelbel and Company always in step with current market demands while building a legacy of unmatched customer satisfaction. It was also the impetus for the firm's latest success, Koelbel Urban Homes.
